Protect our communities; reject the Republican Farm Bill
What's At Stake
The House is scheduled to vote on their version of the latest Farm Bill soon. Each edition of this legislation is an opportunity to support farmers, invest in rural communities, and protect families from harmful chemicals. Unsurprisingly, congressional Republicans aren’t doing that. Instead, they’re trying to fill this must-pass legislation with partisan proposals that would gut environmental and health safeguards and irreparably harm the natural resources that millions of people and species rely on.Â
If signed into law, this bill would wreak incalculable havoc on our communities, including by:Â
-Prolonging our exposure to harmful chemicals and insulating pesticide manufacturers from accountability
–Diverting funding away from projects proven to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
–Weakening protections for endangered species and forests
–Nullifying state laws protecting food safety, environmental standards, and animal welfare
–Maintaining cuts to SNAP that have already put millions of families and children at riskÂ
Farmers, families, and native species all deserve better. Send a letter to your representative and tell them to reject this dangerous bill.
