Tell Congress: Invest in a transportation system that curbs pollution

What's At Stake

Families are facing sky-high prices at the gas pump, all while pollution from cars, trucks, and trains makes our air dirtier and our children sicker. In response, many are seeking out electric vehicles and alternate modes of transportation. Congress should be incentivizing this behavior by passing a surface transportation bill that invests in the programs and infrastructure that can help address air pollution and rising costs.  

Unfortunately, that’s not what they’re doing. 

The House’s BUILD America 250 Act: 

-Falls short on critical investments in electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure
-Undercuts transportation affordability by imposing a new annual punitive fee on drivers who choose EVs
–Repeals important programs that protect the environment, clean air, and communities  

We can’t let Congress pass up this opportunity to make a real, positive difference in our transportation system. We can’t let the next five years be dictated by opposition to investing in the clean energy future we deserve. We can’t let the current version of the BUILD America 250 Act pass.
