Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) and Congressman Jared Huffman (D-CA) joined Earthjustice Action and community leaders from across the Gulf Coast for a press conference at the Russell Senate Office Building. You can watch the full press conference, which focused on dangerous policies and regulatory rollbacks for offshore drilling in the Gulf, the White House’s reckless approval of BP’s new ultra-deepwater project, as well as the extraordinary risks that it could present to Gulf Coast communities. The event was held ahead of the 16th anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill — the worst oil spill in U.S. history.
