WASHINGTON, DC—After Senator Elissa Slotkin’s (D-Mich.) speech in response to President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress, Earthjustice Action Vice President of Policy and Legislation Raúl García issued the following statement:

She drew a clear distinction between the responsible policies pursued by Democrats and the reckless actions of Trump and his henchmen that have gutted federal agencies, undermined environmental protections, and frozen funding for projects that are investing in communities, cutting pollution, and saving lives. Voters from Michigan and across the country elected Democrats to fight our right to healthy environment and stand up to Trump and other Republicans who threaten it.
