Tell Congress: Don’t fast-track dirty fossil fuel projects and AI data centers

What's At Stake

Polluters and Big Tech are hoping that Trump and his allies in Congress will deliver a wish-list of shortcuts to build more fossil fuel-powered projects and data centers across the country, locking us into dirty energy that raises costs, pollutes our waters, and destroys sacred landscapes.  

Senators are considering a potential bill right now that could target foundational environmental laws protecting our land, water, and communities.  Some of the things on the table are:  

-Loosening protections that could allow pipelines, mines, and other polluting projects to move forward without any Tribal consultation or public input on their impacts to culturally important and historic places for Tribal Nations.
–Limiting parts of the Clean Water Act that give states and Tribes authority to weigh in projects that harm water quality. This could mean thousands of fossil fuel projects across all 50 states could be greenlit while ignoring potential damage to rivers, lakes, streams, and groundwater.
–Limiting everyday people’s access to our justice system by restricting their ability to hold polluters accountable in court.  

We need Congress to focus on scaling affordable clean energy quickly. Instead, the American people are being forced to take a deal that would prioritize the interests of the fossil fuel industry and Big Tech. We should not have to say yes to unnecessary, unhealthy, and unjust fossil fuel expansion projects to get the clean energy infrastructure our country desperately needs.
