Ohio, our courts are on the ballot this November!
Did you know there’s a state supreme court race in Ohio?
Incumbent Justices Michael Donnelly and Melody Stewart and Judge Lisa Forbes are running for three seats on the Ohio Supreme Court.
What does a state supreme court justice do?
Over 95 percent of legal cases are handled at the state level, touching on numerous issues that significantly impact our fundamental rights, public health, and the environment. When it comes to determining what polluters and utilities can get away with, protecting our drinking water, and safeguarding our individual rights, our Ohio Supreme Court is our last line of defense.
If you care about the environment, why should you care about the courts?
Because who sits on our courts isn’t just a rights issue; it’s a voting issue! It’s about having state Justices who put facts and science over politics while treating everyone fairly under the law. And it’s about having Justices who understand how pollution impacts communities of color and low-income communities who have long experienced its disproportionate impacts, not just a corporate polluter’s bottom line.
Don’t wait until Election Day to protect our courts!
Whether absentee, early in-person, or same-day voting: Be a State Supreme Court Voter!
