Montana, our courts are on the ballot this November!
Did you know there’s a state supreme court race in Montana?
Judge Katherine Bidegaray and Judge Jerry Lynch are running for two seats on the Montana Supreme Court.
What does a state supreme court justice do?
Over 95 percent of legal cases are handled at the state level, touching on numerous issues that significantly impact our fundamental rights, public health, and the environment. When determining what polluters and utilities can get away with, protecting our public lands, and safeguarding our individual rights, our Montana Supreme Court is our last line of defense.
If you care about the environment, why should you care about the courts?
Because who sits on our courts isn’t just a rights issue; it’s a voting issue! It’s about having state Justices who put facts and science over politics while treating everyone fairly under the law. And it’s about having Justices who understand how pollution impacts low-income communities and communities of color who have long experienced its disproportionate impacts, not just a corporate polluter’s bottom line.
Don’t wait until Election Day to protect our courts!
Whether absentee, early in-person, or same-day voting: Be a State Supreme Court Voter!
